FAQs – Outdoor Mist Cooling System
What is an outdoor mist cooling system?
An outdoor mist cooling system uses high-pressure misting nozzles to release ultra-fine water droplets that instantly evaporate, reducing surrounding air temperature through evaporative cooling—without making the area wet.
How much can a mist cooling system lower the temperature?
Truemist systems can reduce outdoor temperatures by up to 12°C, depending on humidity, air circulation, and nozzle type—making outdoor areas much more comfortable in peak summer heat.
Does the mist cause wetness on furniture or flooring?
No. Our high-pressure misting systems (above 800 psi) produce droplet sizes between 10 to 30 microns, which evaporate instantly. This prevents dampness or wet surfaces, even with continuous use.
Where can mist cooling systems be used?
Outdoor mist systems are ideal for:
• Patios, balconies, and gardens
• Outdoor dining areas and cafés
• Swimming pools and event venues
• Bus stations, railway platforms
• Industrial cooling zones and warehouses
Are misting systems safe for children, pets, and plants?
Yes. Our systems are safe and non-toxic. The fine mist cools the air naturally without chemicals, making it safe for use around pets, children, and plants.
Do misting systems help with dust or air quality?
Yes. In addition to cooling, fine mist helps suppress dust and airborne particles, improving air quality in outdoor and semi-enclosed spaces.
What kind of maintenance is required?
Regular maintenance includes:
• Cleaning or replacing clogged nozzles
• Flushing filters and pipelines periodically
• Ensuring the pump system is operating at proper pressure
Truemist offers ongoing support and annual maintenance plans.
Can the system be automated?
Yes. Truemist offers automated misting solutions with timers, sensors, and remote control options for smart operation based on temperature and humidity.
How much water does the system consume?
On average, a standard misting nozzle uses 0.3 to 0.6 liters of water per minute. Our systems are engineered for minimal water use with maximum cooling efficiency.
Can this system be installed DIY, or do I need professional help?
While small patio systems can be DIY-installed, we recommend professional installation for high-pressure setups to ensure leak-free plumbing, proper pump calibration, and long-term performance.
